The hiking paradise Prato Piazza in the Dolomites of Braies in Val Pusteria

The magic of the mountains: breathtaking views as far as the eye can see

Prato Piazza is described as the scenic terrace of the Dolomites.
And with good reason, because the plateau stands at a height of 2,000 metres and offers extraordinary views of the surrounding mountains, including the Three Peaks, Monte Cristallo and the Croda Rossa d'Ampezzo.

But the view is not the only delightful thing: the area is covered in wide meadows dotted with many flowers and rare plants.

A great attraction at any time of year

In summer, the mild atmosphere on the plateau make it a great place for hiking, mountain biking or Nordic walking; while in winter, fans of ski mountaineering, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing all find something to attract them. In spring, the crocuses start to peer up through the last patches of snow; and in autumn, the varied colours of the landscape and the clear views towards the horizon captivate every visitor to the plateau.
